We opened the 1st public hydrogen station in the Czech Republic

The first public hydrogen filling station in the Czech Republic was put into operation today by the company VÍTKOVICE, a. s. It is also already registered in the European network of hydrogen stations (https://h2.live/en/). "The total investment was about 15 million crowns. It took us two months to build it since the building permit was issued. When choosing the technology, we had already anticipated low energy consumption, which was successful, "said Chairman Rodan Broskevič.

In addition to building elements and engineering networks, the station consists of three basic parts: a durable hydrogen storage tank with a volume of 7.26 m3, a compressor and a dispenser. High-pressure containers for the filler were supplied by the Cylinders Holding group, other parts were supplied by the companies APT, spol. s.r.o. and Vítkovice IT Solutions. The station was filled with hydrogen by Messer Technogas s.r.o. The station is designed to be smaller in order to meet the needs of introducing hydrogen technologies into common practice as quickly as possible.

"It is good that Vítkovice has placed a small, economical filling machine with low electricity consumption within sight of the science center in Dolní Vítkovice. The new technology will be seen a few steps away from places where students learn about these things, where hydrogen training for companies and similar activities takes place, "said Jan Světlík, CEO of Cylinders Holding. The group produces intelligent, comprehensive solutions for the storage and transport of hydrogen, and its subsidiary Vítkovice Cylinders has modern production facilities in the immediate vicinity of the new hydrogen fillers.

At the moment, the first Czech public hydrogen filling machine is in trial operation on working days from 7 am to 5 pm. Regardless of the volume of the tank, a personal hydrogen vehicle can be refueled for an introductory uniform price, which is 2,500 crowns, resp. 100 euros. The capacity of the filler is modular (with an increase in the capacity of the high-pressure tank) to fill up to 40 hydrogen cars of the Toyota Mirai or Hyunday Nexo type, so far about ten cars per day are expected to be filled.

"The filler is interesting for company fleets and individual car owners. As a next step, we plan to build a larger, already multifunctional filling station, "said Broskevič, Chairman of the Board of Directors, on behalf of Vítkovice. There are plenty of manufacturers and importers of world brands of hydrogen-powered cars in Ostrava and the surrounding area. According to Broskevič, the first domestic public hydrogen filler will definitely not be idle.
